Policies and Procedures
I'm going to be very invested in you as my student and would like you to be just as invested in your learning.
ATTENDANCE POLICY
Just like any scholastic environment, the studio has an attendance policy.
We have reserved your lesson time to give you our undivided attention and any cancellation will need to be communicated with at least 48 hours prior notice. This window will allow us to offer that time to another student who may need to reschedule. We do understand that illnesses or emergencies can sometimes occur, and in those instances, we will accept a cancellation by 11 am, the morning of the lesson.
We offer a discount to those who chose to pay for a month of lessons. This package deal includes four lessons and one session with Ryan as your accompanist. The four lessons must be completed within 30 days of payment. If you need to cancel a lesson and are unable to reschedule within the 30 day period, you will forfeit the payment for that lesson. This will serve as an incentive to maintain continued practice and growth as a student.
PROCEDURES
Each student will have their own binders, which we will provide. These binders will include all of the music each student is learning and any notes or exercises discussed during each lesson.
A backup file of each students music will be held at the studio. This will help keep lessons on track should a binder be accidentally left at home.
The studio will not lend out books of music to students, but will make recommendations of local music stores and sites that allow you to purchase sheet music.
Recording your lessons can be very helpful and we encourage you to bring a means of recording, such as a smart phone or mini recorder. These recordings can then be referenced during your daily practice to reinforce concepts and exercises, and to keep you moving toward your goals.
Although this is not a requirement, it is highly recommended.
Daily practice is key to improvement as an artist, and every artist should have a comfortable and supportive space to allow for their practice. If you do not currently have a space, we can discuss ways you can create one.
PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES
We will discuss performance opportunities with each individual student and create a comfortable and supportive setting for everyone.
No one is required to perform at Expressions of Voice Studio
